Regarding the media coverage of “Army Major General Lin Shi-Hua Becomes Acting Dean of the National Defense Medical Center”, Ministry of National Defense has provided the following explanation:

Major general Lin Shi-Hua has received numerous awards including Outstanding Teacher Award of the Ministry of Education, Outstanding Research Award of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Republic of China Medical Contribution Award. Hoping to borrow his clinical teaching experience and academic achievement in accordance with procedures including student graduation of the medical center, job demands, and national examination readiness, Ministry of National Defense has followed the “Enforcement Rules of the Act of Assignment for Officers and Noncommissioned Officers of the Armed Forces” and appointed major general Lin Shi-Hua, committee member of the Army Command Headquarters, to be the acting dean of the National Defense Medical Center until the newly appointed dean officially takes office in order to facilitate the operation of affairs at the medical center.
